My Story Heart: A Display Font That Elevates Campaign Visuals

Choosing the Right Font for a Seasonal Instagram Launch

As a social media strategist working on a client’s fall product launch, I needed visuals that felt warm, inviting, and just a little whimsical. The brand’s core fonts were clean and modern, but for this campaign, we wanted something with more personality. That’s when I came across My Story Heart—a display font that promised to bring a handcrafted, expressive touch to our visuals. I dropped it into our Instagram post mockups, and the difference was immediate.

Visual Style and Brand Personality

My Story Heart is a charming, slightly bouncy display font that feels handmade without being overly casual. It has a soft, rounded aesthetic with subtle flourishes that give it a personal, approachable vibe. It’s not a script font, nor is it a strict sans serif—it lives in that sweet spot between playful and professional. This makes it perfect for brands that want to communicate warmth, creativity, and authenticity without veering into childish or overly decorative territory.

For our campaign, it worked beautifully in quote graphics and product labels. The font’s personality shone through in every visual, making our content feel more human and less templated. It didn’t overpower the imagery—it complemented it.

Real-World Use Across Campaign Assets

We tested My Story Heart across several campaign elements: Instagram carousels, Pinterest pins, YouTube thumbnails, and email banners. Here’s how it performed:

Readability and Digital Visibility

One of the first things I checked was how My Story Heart held up on mobile. The font is best used at medium to large sizes—perfect for headlines, titles, and logo-style treatments. On small previews or fast-scrolling feeds, it maintained clarity as long as the text wasn’t too dense. I found that using it for short phrases or single words yielded the best results.

For dark backgrounds, the font’s soft curves helped it stand out without being harsh. On light backgrounds, especially with a subtle drop shadow, it popped nicely. That said, it’s not ideal for long-form copy or small captions. It’s a display font through and through—meant to catch the eye, not guide the reader through paragraphs.

When My Story Heart Isn’t the Right Fit

While it’s a versatile option for many campaign visuals, there are situations where it doesn’t shine. We tried using it for a detailed webinar description in a landing page header, but readability suffered. It’s not designed for long blocks of text or formal messaging. Similarly, for a corporate client’s LinkedIn ad, the font felt out of place—it lacked the clean, authoritative tone needed for that audience.

If your campaign requires a font that works across both body copy and headlines, you’ll definitely want to pair it with a more neutral, legible typeface. Think of it as a supporting player in your typographic toolkit rather than the main act.

Font Pairing and Practical Considerations

For the best results, I paired My Story Heart with a clean modern sans serif like Montserrat or Lato. This created a nice visual contrast while keeping the overall design balanced. In one case, we used it alongside a serif font for a vintage-inspired Pinterest campaign, and the mix gave the visuals a curated, editorial feel.

Before finalizing, I made sure to check the font’s included styles, ligatures, and alternates. It supports PUA encoding, which made glyph access easy in design tools like Canva and Illustrator. The multilingual support was a bonus for a global brand, and the commercial license allowed us to use it across digital ads, templates, and branded content without legal concerns.
